Im thinking of getting Barry (My Type 3 Squareback) repainted. Poor bugger has flaky paint and some surface rust! How much would i be looking at for different qualities of paint jobs?
I hope you have deep pockets
its the prep that cost the money
I paid 7k for a full pull apart paint job inside and out 7 years ago
Save up and get it done right
I paid $3,500 for a quality blow over with a bit of rust being cut out
So same outside colour only
This is about 5 years ago
Wasnt too bad but rust did raise its head after 4 years
My guess is around $10k for outside with some allowance for rust
or spend $3500 every 5 years
D.I.Y. for a grand.
Pay as much as you can afford anywhere between $2000 and $22,000, it all depends on how far you want to go
i got quoted 22g for the bug and that was 10years ago.
scuff, prime some bits, colour no de nib or buff $1500-$2000and it goes up from there,Materials can easy run $1000 or more depending on brand and your fancy taste. But i would suggest you doing all the rust dents prime your self,it only takes time,And rule number 1 for all CLA members(Col Look Alliance)do it yourself cause you can F.ck it for free.
depends on how good you want it.
I personally wouldn't go any less than 10K for a ok paint job with a reputable shop.
I been quoted starting price of 20K minus body work costs. But that was with one of the best hotrod builders/car restorers in the country so the
standards are high.
The hard part is finding someone who will do what you pay for. There are cheap paint jobs that you pay a cheap price, and expensive paint jobs that
you pay an expensive price. Unfortunately there are situations where someone pays an expensive price and gets a cheap paint job.
That is why where I work, we will estimate hours required, and from there an hour on the job is invoiced at an hours labour. We have the reputation
and the recommendations to ensure people trust that what they pay for they get.
yeah thats right, I seen many 10k+ jobs not work 2k, short cuts and bad prep.
Good to follow various restoration places on FB and forums to see them post their work. Then you get a sense of their quality and workmanship.
up the sunny coast will do what you want for how much u can afford bloody nice bloke scott nows vee dubs
