Beetle spray painted with POR 15 !!
68AutoBug - September 16th, 2003 at 08:26 AM

Is this a first? My Son (professional Spray Painter) has painted a SuperBug with yellow POR 15.
POR 15 is usually used on VW chassis and painted on with a brush. It dries rock hard after 4 days.
My Son did have a lot of problems with spraying the POR 15... and the people selling POR 15 were no help. I haven't seen it as yet. The owner wanted to stop stone chips... whether it will work.. time will tell.... Lee
PS.. that is Not a pic of the superbug!

On the POR15 web site it states that the paint is not UV stable and will fade in sunlight,
Is this a new type of POR15 or does the owner want the washed out look????

that would be a really job to strip off again too wouldnt it ??

I think He is going to get the washed out look whether He wants it or not...
Its the normal POR 15.... for chassis etc...
He will probably have to paint over it, as it would be nearly impossible to get off....
Live & learn.... I remember now that its not UV stable..... If You see a dull yellow Superbug.....

I suppose if it was white it wouldnt be so bad as it wouldnt show thw chalkiness of oxidised paint as much.
