Flat Paint - additive ?
OvalGlen - December 24th, 2003 at 12:10 AM

does any one know the way or ways to get that Flat look ?
Do I need to sand back and respray completely ?.
I have Automotive Acrylic Lacquer with- out clear at present - was thinking of sanding and covering with clear - but like the flat look.

to get the flat look you are looking for you will need to put a matting agent in the clear, depends on now flat you want it to how much you put in. if you are going to just sand it back and clear use 1200 wet and dry or higher(2000 would be better really) so that no scrath marks show through the clear and yes u can't put 2pac over acrylic with out puting a sealing agent down first to stop any reactions:D

thanks, so I can do it in the clear - that is great.
Dont know exactly what colour yet, I was thinking of experimenting on the Green/ Grey that it is at present.
But will want to do something more interesting , I'm sure.
Pale Blue , or maybe Aqua .

I painted with Two Pack previously and Got Really Sick, so tend to stick to Acrylic.

I originally painted it Burgandy, then this green Grey. I painted the Kombi Lavender,
So am getting some experience up - will have a nother go at the Beetle.
I certainly am not perfect and dont really care , I do reasonable job and enjoy having done it myself.

This is why two pack should be painted like this.
