Need help choosing a colour
blup58 - February 6th, 2004 at 01:42 PM

G'day Guys and Girls

I'm in a bit of a dilemma, I need to decide on colour for my 57 beetle.

Refer attached images. I've also included a couple of pictures of seat colour and powdercoating colour for reference. Seats could be coloured differently but only to another dark colour. Powdercoating I'm stuck with.

I welcome all suggestions as I'm struggling to make up my mind, thought maybe someone out there might have a really cool colour that I haven't thought of but may not ever get the chance to do themselves.

The colours I'm leaning towards are:

- Dove Blue;
- Black;
- Martini Mica (Current holden commmodore colour, looks great during the day but not so good at night or when dirty)

Cheers

Brad

Also forgot to mention all my guages are carbon fibre (in case any one out there with colour sense thinks this will make any difference) and the colour test sample on the fender in the above piccies is the Martini Mica

One of the new ford colours looks very similar to VW/Porsche Polar Silver.

I reckon a beetle would look nice in that colour. :thumb

Anthricite is another cool colour - I think Dasdubber's car is done in it.

Did you try this site?

We used it to help decide how we wanted to paint our beetle. :thumb

I like white beetles... and silver beetles & those guards look OK... Older Beetles look great in most Metallic colours as We never had them originally... they were available elsewhere though... My beetle is painted Mitsubishi silver grey.... Remember lighter colours are safer & cooler in the summer..
