sanding filler
bigbruvabob - April 18th, 2004 at 12:40 PM

ok next bit of help please! I have just filled in the small dents and rust repairs over the top of my etch primer. Filling aint easy fo the unpractised hand and now that ive done am a bit unsure as too best way to sand back the filler to get the smoothest result. What grade paper should i use and should i use a block or hand or speed file. all the work is on the curved surfaces of the bonnet and deck lid. I rouhged up the etch primer with 240 grit but had to go real light as it was easy to go through the primer even though it had three coats on, although this only happened in one small spot.
When filling done what grade paper should i use to go over the whole lot prior to hi fill

my personal prference (especially on curves) is by hand. start with something pretty coarse untill the shape is about right then work down.
