"RADAR-INVISIBLE" paint
56astro - May 12th, 2004 at 09:44 AM

Is there such a paint that is invisible to radar and laser speed detection devices??

You know, like the stuff on the F-17 Stealth fighter/bomber.

Or does a matt black or grey acheive the same results

I'm guessing there is, as the paint on the US stealth bombers is supposed to not reflect radar, and I guess any matt black would diffuse laser to some extent, but whether you can find the stuff, or afford it, is another matter.

Trying to do something like this? :D

Paint alone cannot fool radar. Almost nothing can fool laser.

Stealth vehicle use a combination of low reflect surfaces, shape, passive and active radar jamming devices, flight techniques, geography and their relationship/orientation to the earths magnetic fields.

Can you do it on a car? No.

The best car for avoiding laser detectors is an early RX7 painted matt black, so I have been informed by a traffic cop. I have the right colour but I also have a hell of alot more front surface area than an RX7:P

aint no way my flat black defeats a radar.... hmmm 77 in a 60 zone. and funny enough it was after i had taken my speedo out and dropped it off to mike at VVDS to get it working. i was on my way back to work and 'flash'.

but like 59bus said, maybe it is the surface area!!!
