Bay bus Deluxe trim : Aluminnium or stainless?

I thought it was stainless, now I'm starting to think I am wrong about that.
Anybody got any thoughts or even better, the facts?

stainless, 50's were aluminium.

On our 75 Microbus it is aluminium around the front windows where the outer scrapers are. It is stainless on the long straight moulds on the outside along the body at door handle height.

What year and Type car are we talking about ???

If its a Beetle then Alloy was up to around 62 then it went to Stainless.
