The clips depend on the design of the metal trim. I think if its the same cross section as a stock trim them use the origional type clip and rubber grommet to stop water getting into the car.

Are the flash clip made from a wire material ?? I think these were the aussie aftermarket clip.

bought my clips from bill thompson antique rubber supplies in ringwood victoria.
they are different to the standard body molding clips.
there are no rubber grommets they just go straight into the drilled holes.yes they are a wire type clip,if you need a sample u2u me

they are the wire clip type so they dont have a rubber grommet? if so waht stops the water getting in and some of the clips are rusty wouldnt that cause the body to rust as well?

Marcel

check the profile of the trim and if its the same as a stock side trim use the origional VW clips with rubber grommets

Toss the wire ones away. you may have to drill the holes slightly larger.. they made the wire ones as the origional VW ones were not available

new clips are 0.45 cents each.
