is it ok to have some fiberglass covering areas of cut away rust and replated spots. the underside of front door has had rust cut away and a new plate has been welded in and all paint around it is stripped and is at bare metal. They have a small amt of fiberglass covering these bits as well, i saw them weld and cut away and replate the rust so why do this, is it just insurance?

if they welded metal in, Fibreglass would be used to smooth the panel, This is fine :)
