i decided the glovebox lid would be a good thing to practice on....
cleaned it up, smoothed a few bits, couple of coats of primer and a few coats of cobalt blue.....
it's far from perfect but i'm happy at my first attempt!
at the mo i'm looking to do two-tone cobalt blue and chinchilla grey, i've not sprayed any of the grey yet, so not sure whether they will actually
look ok side by side....

looks pretty sweet for a first go....its all practice and experience mate keep at it
thanks.
i got a good angle on it for that pic
it's actually got a number of bits that weren't nearly smooth enough, and i didn't leave it long enough to cure so it's got some meaty finger
prints in the paint too....lol
but like i said, it was just a practice run, the dash is more likely to be done grey anyway.

as Pyro said practice makes perfect, well for us backyarders good enough to make it look 100% better than it was ,ive painted about 6 or 7 cars and still get some iffy bits:duh
Trust me it is ALL in the preperation and never try to rush things.
This was painted in my shed and I had only done a quick respray on a beetle before and that was about 7 years ago.
Great to be able to say you did it yourself.
Cheers
Dave
all in the prep as kombi said
rub that primer good!! dont leave any peel in it when you paint colour!, colour shows everything :|
