buggy is painted and i am happy withn the job
people told me it would be finished striaght off the gun
with no cut and polish or buffing required
because i painted it in my shed there is dust/dirt particals you can feel in the clear
what do i have to do to get that smooth feel?
how long do i have to wait to cut/buff or whatever?
i will try and get a photo on here tomorrow
thanks hotdog ej20t manx
let the car sit for a few days or so, because you didn't bake it..
small particles can be rubbed by hand with 2000 paper,
larger ones with a soft black,
and big ones with a hard rubber block using 1500, then 2000 over by hand,
any runs you'd probably want to use an aluminium block, with 1200 if its real big, or 1500 if smaller, then once it's flat go over with 2000 paper
by hand, then use cutting compound, and the buff to get the 2000 scratches out.
It would be finished straight off the gun if it had no dust in it. Yeah? You will have to rub it with 1500 and buff it with a slow rev buff about
1800rpm. Use a hard white foam buff pad and a two pack cutter like Farecla. You would be advised to wait a few days before cutting. It will take about
20-40 hours work to do the whole car, depending on your skill, experience, alignment of moon and stars etc.
Be patient, as I know a lot of experienced painters that still manage to stuff up a paint job at the cutting stage.
