Has anyone done the TAFE bodywork course?

Howdy Kids,

I have been thinking about doing a body repair course in order to start my car restoration without being a complete tardo. I was wondering how useful the course is and which one is the best for a complete novice to start with.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

What city are you in? I have done the TAFE "car restoration" course at St George campus. The course is pretty self directed, you basically come in with your panels each week and use the equipment. There is always at least one Teacher there so you can ask questions and stuff. It was difficult at first, but once you get some basic skills it is quite a good course. The first session you have, they will show you through all the machines and get you started on the basics.

Actually there is one full class starting the monday after next, and another one which is short 4 people. So if you're interested give them a call on 02 9598 6200. They actually take enrollments through a guy called Bennet Griffin at the Ultimo tafe. I dont have his number on me right now.

Thanks Jon,

I'm in sydney so it sounds perfect. I've got a KG so I don't think I will be able to take many panels in off it, I guess I could buy a couple of old guards to practice on.

Thanks again,

Kev
