Rim Colour.
toecutter - June 17th, 2005 at 09:00 PM

Hi All,

I have a set of type 3 steel rims and during one stage of their life they have been painted.
Is there a correct (silver?) colour to return them to there former glory?
Is power coating a better option?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Brad.

I recon white looks awsome for stock kombi rims (dunno what type 3 rims are). Powder coating is what i plan to do. Or use 2 pac paint.

Would 2 pac paint chip when they place a new tyre on?

go the powder, bright and durable

yea, paint is probably more likely to chip. How much did it cost to get that set of rims powder coated? Did they prep it for you aswell?

when i paint a set of rims silver i use 'wheel silver' same nice silver colour like on hi-lux rims, they come up a treat.. did my oval and many kombis with wheel silver.. noice i must say

I reckon powder coating would be best, much more durable.

If you want silver, they can do that with powder coating.
