Bead Blasting & Good beater/sprayer
*did* - June 22nd, 2005 at 12:00 PM

I plan to get my beetle re-sprayed. The current metallic paintwork is cracked and chipped on the bonnet and roof. There are also some areas of filler, a few small dents and a few small rust spots.

I have a quite few questions but I would be silly not to ask and proceed without knowing.

Does anyone know somewhere in melbourne that will bead blast my beetle body? Any idea on the price?
Is it worth it?
I want to make sure that all the crap is removed off my bug so that when i get it resprayed the paintjob lasts.

I have a couple of sections that will need to be filled or possibly beaten, and some rust areas that will need welding, should this be done before or after blasting? I think it should be done after because then any old filled areas will be obvious and can be repaired properly. Also any holes created by the blasting can then be welded up.

Does anyone know a good place to get all the bodywork and the paint job done at? Rough price?

I havent got any quotes yet, just want to get a rough idea of everything so that I can start planning it all.

Cheers

Have a look at some resto places listed on this page

http://www.atozpages.com.au/contentsatoz/CAR%20RESTORATION.htm

They will probably be able to organise the bead blasting, give them a call is the best way.

Rough price, between $3000 and $10,000
