price comparison rust work

hey people
just wondering what the thoughts of this quote are
i am supplying th replacement panels here
it is the replacing of the inner/outter sills of my dual cab kombi only to primer level
i think it is fairly good deal he has said $550 maximum $600 which im happy to pay cause i know he has done these before and his work is good but what do u guys in the city pay and or professionals charge for this work?

Sounds good if it is a proper job. I wouldn't do it for any less, I would probably charge more.

ok kool i know he is good cause he does alot of resto work and is tops!! he done some rust work in my old mans T3 ute and come up tops!!

well whats turned out sills has turned out to about $2000 worth of rust work!! oh well mayaswell be one know "PROPERLY" i will get some pics of the nice work ya gotta love the things people do!! oh well she will get a new lease on life after with a fresh coat of flat red to go rat look cause know i cant afford the paint it properly!!

Who did you use kombi-kid. I,ve got a splitty that needs some work and the panel shop has stuffed me around for 7 months so i need to start looking elsewhere. Can you or anyone else reccomend another repairer. Will travel for the right guy.:cry

this is coffs panelbeaters this guy dos alot of panelbeating and resto jobs he has a early 60's bettle in there at the moment aswell as an old T-bucket and some old holden! so dos alot of older cars and definately has his head on his shoulders about the work!!
also contact winerot off this forum aout who he has used for his resto he is also recommended!!

Just trying to get a panel beater down here in sydney to do rust work is a major problem, your lucky u can get some one to do the work.

rhys i was at tormina ind centre the other day looking for a glass place
& spotted across from the bmx track a blasting place with a bay daul
cab & a karman ghia in the yard both in the primer stage do you know
the place & around the corner down a lane a beetle in the same stage.
not often you see vw's in a small industrial area at different places looked
promising.
jaksc sorry about that would have been good he takes pride in his work
but does have a backload of work, i want him to do my next one too but
it will be about a year before that happens if it does at all.
steve said in his business most panelbeaters want the new cars quick & easy(mostly plastic) & a more profitable turnover, ashame no pride in there work

thats cause when you find yer little lepricorn you don't wants to share ay....I had sill done on my CC a while ago...so that price sounds more than fair, they are a serious job, and not quite grind off/weld in, the CC is quite complicated to do well.

You get what you pay for.
