Does anyone know where i can buy a headlining tool and a good place in australia to get a full headlining kit
been quoted $800 fr an upholsterguy to do it, so thought we might do it ourselves/
cheers guys
Headlining kits are available from Vintage Vee Dub in Sydney 02-9789-1777
The only tool you will need are glue, bulldog clips, paint scrapers, hair dryer and a few paitient hours
i saw some cheap on classic veedub's website too
i made my own headliner out of black vinyl for my t3...it looks awesome and cost $40...all i did was grabbed my mum:P and her sewing machine, used the
old as a template and then used the higher grade thick cotton.like $14 a reel. used 2 reels, so it really cost bout sixty bucks, but personally i
think compared to a $800 one...mine looks pretty damn good.
havent herd of a headlining tool...whats it supposed to do?

The manual mentions the need for a headling tool, i think it is just used to stuff the lining into the corners and aukward bits!!
Thanks for your words, it sounds like a plan as I have also been quoted $800 for installation. I will probably buy a kit as they are only $70 and
spend another fun day with my bug!
i had a kit for mine and it cost me about $100 to have it installed by cruisin car carpets but he is in sydney
Wow that is cheap. maybe i'll keep shopping around up here for an installer!
It would seem a shame to end this thread without catching a glimpse of a "headlining tool", so:
"STUFFS HEADLINING EDGES INTO LOCKING CHANNEL AND OTHER TRIM EDGES
INTO HARD TO REACH PLACES. BLUNT EDGE OF TOOL CANNOT DAMAGE
MATERIAL, FINE FOR PRESSING LANDAU TOP EDGES INTO RAIN GUTTER."
The Motor Trimmers that I have used, just use a 25mm and 50mm paint scraper with the sharp edge ground off.
800 is too much try another it cost me 400 couple of months ago to have a velor one made
saw liner on here for around $100 recently also on e-bay Vickie. I would temporarily glue a piece of somethin over the paint scraper edge. BUT, i
could make ya one outa strong plastic ...even plywood as i will need it soon.. will fit in an envelope
i need an oval one does Vintage have them
