hi i want to paint a few panels at home, i was wondering can u spray a clear enamel coat over a base coat??
two pack enamel or ordinary enamel
i wouldn't spray 2 pac stuff at home unless i had all the right gear (good chance of ending up in hospital under the care of a respiratory
specialist)
i would use acrylic lacquer at home for touch ups/ panels etc
and ordinary spray enamel for tinware and chassis sought of stuff
i would use clear acrylic lacquer over the top of acrylic lacquer metallic colours but not ordinary spray enamel (single pack)
don't think i would use clear over solid colours (ie non-metallic)
i was just thinking of using the acrylic paints from repco
acrylic paint you'll be right just make sure to wear your mask
For home use stick to acrylic paints. I will never ever use two pack at home. That is oven paint.
With acrylic you can get show car finish with some good old hard work.
wots the best process to follow wen using acrlic paint? im patient and dont mind putting in the hard work
There is no specific answer to that one sorry.
Experience, patience, gut feeling, instinct all play a part in getting a good paint finish. They cannot be written in words. Your best bet is to do a
TAFE course or practice on some other items first like pushbike frame, toolbox, PC outer case etc...
That said, you can do plenty of searches on the internet, but be prepared for hundreds of different ways to do things. Everyone is different, and they
are all correct in their own way.
