Plastic Bumpers....a little help
toecutter - July 14th, 2006 at 08:29 PM

I had a small problem this arvo cleaning the car as I knocked it out of gear. The car moved forward and grazed a fence. The plastic bumper ( non painted ) has very slight graze marks. Can someone recommended anything to make them disappear? Im still pissed of with myself because im a f#@kin idiot, as something like this should never of happened.

Cheers for any recommendations!:thumb

think u might be able to sand it smooth if it doesn't cause any discolouration?

What colour is the plastic? Grey or black? Does it have any previous discolouration or fading?, Does it have a smooth finish or a bumped or dimple finish?

To make a plastic bumper with a bumped or dimple finish perfect, the only way is to buy a new one. To get it pretty close to new, or reconditioned you will need to buy the range of plastic repair products as none of the car body panel products are suitable. You will usually find DIY spray can stuff at your local car parts outlet in the VHT, K&H, Motorspray brands.

The other alternative is to call a mobile scratch & dent repair man in a van to come over and pssssst psssssst with his little spray gun and repair kit.
