Help me Find Candy Apple Pink!
MISS VDUB - July 16th, 2006 at 11:56 PM

Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me, who out there makes Candy Apple Pink in 2pac?

I was originally going to go with Spray Chief but apparently they only do Acrylic now, and i know House of Kolor do, but their prices are rediculous!

Please help...

we use
ABI Paint Supplies

24/ 73 South Pine Rd Brendale QLD 4500
ph: (07) 3889 7707

. they are fabulous and can match and make any colour you want.

Thanks Empi, that would be great!

Seems most paint suppliers are using House of Kolor Candy's, and i cant understand paying that amount of money for Paint like that. Seems most have the attitude that no one wants Candy Apple Pink so they dont make it anymore, really frustrating!

Have you tried Westcoast Automotive Supplies in Bassendean?
I dont know what brands they use but have seen them mix custom colours on site.

Ash do you really need to go with a 2pac paint if you can find the colour in acrylic. If you look after the paint acrylic can last for years.

Hi Ash. I can't help you with your quest.

Are you just looking for the Candy Apple colour and look, or are you going to paint your car in a genuine Candy Apple paint job?

The Candy Apple look in a two pack metal flake is the way to go, because you can repair it. It's what I intend to do, in tangerene, with my SR, with lots of clear coat in top to give it the deep Candy Apple look

Genuine Candy Apple paint jobs are to be found on show pony/trailer queens only, as to repair a scratch in Candy Apple requires a repainting of the whole panel or even the whole car, so, don't even consider a genuine Candy Apple paint job on a daily driver.

I hope that this helps. Richard.

Why's it so difficult to repair? is it one of those special 'layered' painting jobs with VERY fine detail and tuning on the guns etc?

(I'm new to the painting game, I have a limited understanding and acrylic is my focus :P)

Luke - I've contacted Concept paints and the Candy they actually use is House of Kolor, they dont actually have their own! The price they gave me was a around three grand!

Richard - cheers for the comments...we actually already have a Candy Apple Red vehicle in our family. My dad has painted his F350 custom fire truck in Candy Apple Red. Looks beautiful! I'm not going anywhere near acrylic, ends up looking cheap, nasty and doesnt last long!

Malcolm - I will have a look into your contacts to see if they will help me. So far all i get is "no one wants pink, so they dont make it anymore". Really shits me! I want pink, obviously im a nobody!

Well done Ash. Where? What? Who? Please tell me where I can get some. It may be what I want. Who will do your paint job? Richard.
