G'day
Im looking at buying a spray gun to do some painting of parts.
What sort of good guns are good and where can i get them from? The only one i have seen without looking specifically is the typical one they sell at
Super cheap.
Thanks
If there are previous post about this could you point me to them. Thanks
You obviously don't need a professional gun! Yeah?
Star 770 will cost about $110. No problems with spraying parts or primer, can be used for spraying panels in acrylic laquer for reasonable surface
finish.
Star S2000 will cost about $180. Better gun with increased atomisation and slightly more fan control. Very good surface finish for acrylic laquer and
good for painting parts. Probably wouldn't get as much product transfer when painting primer unless thinned more.
Now there are many other brands, a lot have good names, some have cheap models that suck badly. Your best bet is to buy the spraygun from a place that
specialises in automotive paint, not just a corner of a large car dress up bling bling and stereo store.
Lol. go the bling bling stores.
When you say the S2000 wont get as much product transfer for primer unless thinned more, are you saying that not enough primer will get on the surface
because it gets atomsied too much? so you have to thin it more which gives a thinner coat?
Thanks
i got a what im told is the same as a star 770 (same moulding and numbers) from glenfords last week on sale for $60 it seems to work well. i have been
told to get a gravity feed one if i get another one. i only liked the suction feed because i could put it down
my 2c
From the website i found, the Star S2000 is available as a HVLP in suction only.It is available in gravity feed in the general series.
Not sure about the 770.
Anyway, so whats the better option, HVLP or Gravity feed, i have heard that gravity feed is crucial for good detail because it reduces splutter form
the suction. Or go for an option that is gravity and HVLP?
