the german door seals we bought seem to be too thick
the door wont close poperly as it seems too thick
is this normal?
its a 64 bug too lol forgot to mention
deon
you can allways give em to me and you can buy another set ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,lol
make sure you have removed all the old glue n gunk from the groove
then once tehre clean and open make sure you seat the seal right to the bottom of the door lip this takes time and effort to get them into place
not easy
oh yes i see what you mean
is that bit sorta spose to hang out the door a bit near the lock?

the rubber near the door isn't supposed to hang out...
the rubber really needs to be glued there....
or at least pushed into place...
and the door shut...
although I don't think I've glued Mine anywhere...
I didn't think that My doors would ever close properly,,
but it only took a little while and they were OK...
the rubbers that is....
just imagine door rubbers being fitted every few minutes at the factory.... How did they do it???

You DONT need glue just a lot of effort to clean n push the seal right home
thats why the door has the lip on it to hold the rubber seal in place
yeah deon how much do you want for them
jason ill have a look what i paid for them and come up with a super price for ya!
right i got one side in the passanger side nice and snug by giving it a good clean)thanks again)
but the drivers side slips in and out on one side too easy:o
whats going on?
deon
Get a rubber mallet or a bit of heavy rag and cover the area that loose and give it a gentel tap to close the gap a little
Is the door fitted properly in the first place do you have good and even door gaps all the way around
Are the door faces level top and bottom with the rear panel etc etc and is the front of the door sitting in the correct spot
lots of things to look at before the door seal is fitted
thanks got oneto fit beatifully
but the other side sliped srtaight in and falls straight out when you open the door
so im sending them back
plus the window seals jason sorry but all up the parts i need to send back ad up to 500 bucks
nothing but probs with this dude sending wrong stuff, not your mate vw54 got some stuff of them and they are good

You need to adjust the door gap it wont fall out then
no it wasnt the gap it was the seal, i had a bit of old seal and it fitted perfect the seals different.
