Hey Guys
Trying to determine the colour of my car. Should be easy I know.
It's a 69 type 3 aand is an off white colour. Searching the Samba I realised there are a number of whites for cars of this vintage.

It's a 69. Chassis No. 369160101 (which is not listed on the Samba only goes to 368)

Can anyone tell me where to find the M code plate in a type 3 as per http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/id.php  or ID this colour for me please. Will add pic when I find it

Reading the Numbers from left to right
36 = Type 36 (type 3 squareback)
9 = Model year 1969
1 = Mark 1
60101 = Vehicle Serial Number

Try looking for a stamped production plate on the front panel near the chassis plate.. The paint code will be stamped "sideways" on the Left hand side of the plate.. The numbers running left to right will be the build date and the production code..
