I am having my fastback reprayed and I am wondering as to whether it would be better to drive it to the place doing the job (50 minute drive) or have
panels off and tow it there.
The reason I ask is that though I want a rubbers/windows/beading off job, I am not sure whether the resprayer would do a panel off or on job. I know
it is up to me, but is there any reason for having the panels off the car itself?
Just freaking out a bit as I get to that time and realisation that I am actually committing to such a large investment and I want to get it right.
Any feedback welcome as is general discussion.

Ask the person doing the job if they are going to charge any difference in price. If the beading is coming off, there is not much more work in taking
the guards off.
It will be a better job with the panels off. If it is metallic finish, the panels will have to go back on for final topcoat to have consistency of
colour.
Usually you get what you pay for, so a better job will take longer and cost more. Although I cannot guarantee that in this circumstance. We have had
quite a few 50K plus resto's done on cars at my work, so there are times when people want perfection - at a price!
