This is a '73 L bug I restored a few years ago.
Bought for $500.00 from the local Holden dealer.
This is during, had to change the pan, the original one had soooo much rust
Here is the same car, finished with its new owner. It cost $2200.00 to restore, doing all the work myself. Including top end engine rebuild.
The car was sold 2 years later for $5000.00
Single cab ute, bought from a farmer out west, way out west!! for $500,
6 months later it looked like this, I still own this ute now.
Simply beautiful Dave...I just love the transition from wreck to stunner!
Hope you're still giving old Vw's a new lease on life?

top effort dave... love the ute. how long ago did you get it. and was there a lot done to get to the standard in the pic. am so much in need of one of
those babies...
how maney vw's have you saved/resurrected over the years.
The ute was 99% rust free, but was missing a lot of parts. I bought it about 10 years ago.
I have restored quiet a few cars, 8 full rebuilds, and I am doing a "69 Beetle now.
You lucky son of a gun! I think I will have to start keeping my eye open on my country trips, the ute was a great find! nearly all the other finds
have the usual rust on the lower front clip! that one looks pretty free from rust and the rest looks pretty straight too, lucky devil.
Rob.....
WOW they look great love your work, dont forget to post the pics after you finish your latest project
