Well i have been inspired by the efforts of people like dasdubber and beerdoc and others and their pic stories on bodywork...specially rust removal:tu: so i thought i'd give it a go myself.

getting my red beetle back on the road and there was bad rust in the corners around the rear window...is that called the "C" pillars? anyway lucky i still have a donor beetle or two...

the rust was in the lower corners but so was it on the green bug so i cut the top corners out and swapped them diagonally:dork:

Well done, there is nothing like the satisfaction you get from doing a job your self.

finally found some time amid lifes dramas to do the last bit on my beetle

i have already welded a bit of 40x4mm flatbar in there...that jacking point is going nowhere but up!

cut a similar piece to what i needed out of my green beetle(or whats left of it)

then had to shape it a bit

fitted in nicely

yeehaaa...a beetle with no rust...just as i'm getting good at this...oh well there is always the black kombi to do if i get time:no:
