Removing a known Beetle rust trap

Hi

Some vandalism occurred to my daily driver/sons car just before Christmas, so now its time for a bit of a tidy up. Somebody jumped on the roof and bonnet.

I removed the bottom of the A pillar, this is a very bad spot for rust as the drain hole often blocks up with crud, it didn't actually have any rust in this area.

Hi

A lot of bugs rust in that area because the crud cant get away. VW had about 10mm hole in that area but it soon filled up.

I do it as a preventative, my daily is surprisingly rust free, it did have rust treatment when it was new as it had a sticker on the window and has plastic plus where stuff has been squirted in.

ok now i follow, any issue with much water getting into other bits of the body? say up thru the hole then down thru the sills or onto the floor where the loom comes down around there? that would be my only concern...
