Has any body used the cheap little sandblasting guns you
get at bunnings? I was thinking of getting one for stripping parts and in those hard to get to areas in corners etc.

yeah i have also seen these at super cheap auto for like 30 bux.. was wondering this also.

you need to have a reasonable air compressor to run it and it probably won't take all of the rust of off parts. In my opinion only really good for removing paint. You would also need an abrasive not just any sand, garnet works best for me.

get one of these. this ones mine. its great.

I was going to recommend the exact same unit Dilbert. They work quite well for those hard to get at areas. But you are righ they are not cheap. You would want a 15, 16,17 cfm compressor to keep up too.

Yeah I have one of those cheap guns. Its ok for removing paint and mild surface rust on small parts and hard to reach places but they are very slow. I use illamnite and if not done in a cabinet it can get rather messy. It takes about an hour to do a 15'' rim. All in all their pretty shit.

works so much better but its pretty exy option
done over a big tarp u can catch most of it and sift it if u have the patience

you can also buy a device called a hot spot for a speed blaster which is a rubber nozzle with a bag on it that attatches to the speed blaster nozzle. you push the rubber nozzle up against the panels and the sand ends up in the bag and not the floor to be reused and a little less messy.
