Seriously Louie

Once you have paid for body work, paint, top, structural support underneath, engineers report it will soon go well past the $2k asking price you see them sell for.

I have seen many a reasonable job with papers and rego with a new top sell for like $2500

Ok so everyone tells me not to do it.

What I want is a convertible like the image I attached (attach again). Should I wait and find one like this to buy instead of doing it myself?

Thanks, appreciate all the advice it's great.

Louise

that image is of a genuine Karman Cabrio beetle.

not one that some one has chopped the roof off. they are worth quite a bit of money to find a nice one.

if you want a chop top bug then dont devalue another one, find one already done. or search for a karman cab. a chop top bug will never look anywhere near as good as the one you have posted.

someone on here was selling a genuine karmann ghia superbug about a month ago werent they? only wanted about 12k for it from memory, most genuine later models have 20k on them from what ive seen... search button is your friend :)
