Yeah Steff its errr definaltely green good work! Ha

Hellbugged, you guys had your chance to own this car but you left it sat in a field in victoria for about 15years, so i figure best ship it over here where somone will look after it rather than leave it to die! ha.... OR it mite be summin to do with the fact our UK bugs are all rotten!??

Yeah im screwed with the colour thing, im pretty sure its original the interior is also green and cream to match. Ive tryed ceramic green and jungle green but there nothing near it.

What is the score with Australian colours anyway, are they the same as european but with different names and numbers? or are they totally different?

vw54 - May 2nd, 2010 at 07:31 PM

slightly different and names to match AUSSIE as well

Joe1958 - May 2nd, 2010 at 07:55 PM

Ahh i see, that makes it difficult then. Thanks for your help. If i rub back the green there is a thin coat of an orange/red colour underneith but i would have thort this would be primer? Especially as the interior is green. Ive had the body off this car and there is green everywhere the underside or the heater channels is prob the best example as it hasnt been affected by the sun.

HappyDaze - May 2nd, 2010 at 08:01 PM

Quite often red was used under green, ( and green under red ), as one is the negative of the other.
I still reckon yours is probably Gulf Green.

Cheers, Greg

just found out my "pearl" white is prob. a "polar" white,
had no idea that Austral;ia had different colours, it explains why I had to get the paint "tinted" to match the glovebox,
how different is polar to pearl cause I'm in need of new wing beading,
has anyone got any paint chips/formulars etc
been into veedubs for over 20 years and yet they never fail to teach me something, gotta love em
