someone to paint my car?
baja burley - March 7th, 2011 at 12:39 PM

g'day, haven't been on here in a while as i hit the stage where my car needs a new lick of paint and have been reluctant to start... at this stage i have decided to look into paying someone else to do it.

i assume the old paint will need to be removed as there are bare metal deep cracks in it, also i have half sanded the roof back..

what sort of money would i be looking at to give my car to someone 'as is' and get it back with a cheap to average paint job??

also any offers to do the job??

cheers
Luke

Hi Luke,

I too am thinking of getting by Dub painted professionally, and I was wondering if anybody has PM'd you - as I can see nobody has bothered to answer your question publicly as yet.

how long is a peice of string?

there is no answer, paint and body depends on each car/bike/bug etc and this question is asked a million times .. same answers ever time.

the only thing you can do is take ur car/bike whatever to a panel shop and get a quote then take it to another and do the same. Then post what they are offering fo rough coat and people int he trade can give an idea of its worth.

the latest one we have at work is a "good" condition (owners words not ours) HT two door. he brought it into us fully striped of parts bar the rear diff and wheels. so far he "good" car is up to 30 grand and not one lick of paint has been put on.

you can get repaints for 1500 and up but u get what you pay for.

We have a lot of customers that strip, repair, prime and rub themselfs and just bring it in for a final going over and paint. this will save you a heap of money as long as its done right. but you need to remember thats the most important part!!! if the prep works done bad no matter how good the painter is it will always look bad.

steff.........
