Penetrol Question
Chooby - April 13th, 2012 at 09:19 AM

I know Penetrol seals the steal, so to speak but has anyone used it on a painted duco ?

I'm wondering what it will do.

why do You want to put it on painted duco/paint..??

There was a product many years ago that was great in stopping rust and didn't bother paint...
BUT.. it wrecked any rubber it came in contact with.
it swelled up and broke off... etc..
it had a name like penetrol???

I have always used KILRUST Fish OIl...

I just got My tin out a couple of days ago... years old..

and its still the good stuff... clear and won't hurt anything..
drys over anything.. doesn't disolve anything...
the brush on stuff is thicker than the spray on stuff..
although I have used both... love it..

cheers

LEE

Thanks Lee

The Penetrol question lodged with me today looking at all the Rats.

I haven't had the chance to see use this yet and started thinking.

Cheers again.

Penetrol's a good rust preventer and sticks to anything but it might cause slight discoloration because its not clear as water. Its turps based so I doubt if it would damage rubbers etc. I spray penetrol into all crevices and inside doors etc and it dries hard with no smell.:tu:
