Let start with I plan to put either Porsche dial style 16" or twist 17x7 on my 1303 L bug. Everyone said both style will fit under stock guard with
no problem.
At the moment my car has stock brake front and rear , front adjustable coil over with narrow spring and empi style 8 spoke wheels and if you see my
picture, the front wheels of my car sticking out about 1.5" off the fender already
My question are...
1 . What offset do I need on those wheels?
2. Can I stay with stock brake set up with redrill rotor and drum for now?
3. Other than Porsche 944 or 924 caliper what brake upgrade can I use and fit Porsche wheels?
The car is in process of sending to the painter and wanna make sure that I don't need to flare the guards before they start painting . Wanna do it
right at once.

The "best" Porsche wheels are Boxster 16" rear 7" ET 40 and front 6" ET 50
Because of their set up you want different ET front and back on Supers
Tele-Dial and twist I dont think you will fit without spacers
You cant redrill legally
If you Porsche stud them with mushroom heads that may be legal
Best to get new rotors and drums drilled.
make sure you get uniforn thickness drums and rotors - not 4 stud webbed blanks.
You wont have enough meat off the web
Stock brakes are fine.
If anything go Type 3 rear drum

Anyway still in love with the twist style and found a set on ebay , they are 17"x7" front and 8" rear , dont know the offset . Dont know if it
fit under stock fender? I dont mind 8 mm spacer at the back if it enough clearance. More information please everyone. Thank you
Ps. What do you guy rate rear disc conversion kit from classic veedub?
I wouldn't waste my money on the rear disc kit.
For show only. No better braking and hand brake all but disappears.
If you really want to go that way you are better off with a Ford EB conversion.
Twist will fit under stock guards but it is a real thick spacer which you would not get engineer approval.

Thanks for your info karmann141. How much you paid for brake set up back then? Was it need much modification?
Bought complete rear trailing arms and brakes for $400 several years ago locally on ebay.
Front hubs and brakes, not sure as I've had them for quite a few years. Unfortunately they're all just getting a bit harder to find these days but
they're still available for reasonable $.
