Hi all,
Trying to find something I can use to block off the fan shroud. Was out at Vintage Vee Dub earlier but forgot.
Any substitutes?
Thanks
Soft drink can and a hose clamp, not pretty but good temporary solution.
Super cheap sell caps that plug them pefectly.
They look like these see link.

Take a look and see how you go.
If you can find them 1-7/8" welsh plugs are the perfect fit, just press in and dont even need fixing in place they are such a snug fit but its an odd
size and not many places carry them.
Are you blocking the outlets because you are running J-pipes?
if you still have heaterboxes in place blocking the hoses off is the worst thing you can do, it will run hotter, heaterboxes need the shroud hoses in
place.

Removing the heaterboxes to replace with the recently purchsed vintagespeed exhaust and J pipes from said trip to VVW.
How do you all block off where the heater pipe goes into the body - a similar approach to above?

Kev, inside the heaterboxes are alloy heat sinks moulded around the Jpipe designed to generate lots of heat.
The heaters are actually working all the time even when the lever inside is set to off, they have a bypass dump valve so when they are set to off the
hot air is dumped under the car instead.
When you remove the air flow through them those heat sinks cant shed all that heat they generate and all it does is cook the engine.
People think they are improving the cooling by removing the air flow to the heaterboxes but they are actually making things worse.
