Long Range Fuel Tanks
Kombi Dad - June 26th, 2004 at 01:45 PM

Hi,

Has anyone out there fitted long range fuel tanks to a Kombi. I currently drive a 1982 air cooled camper and am assessing my options for carrying more fuel for an extended trip. It is fitted with the standard 60 litre tank. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Just remember the 82 is a brick so the tank is up the front, not down the back like a bay window kombi.

I have looked at this option for my T25 ( same as what you have ) and reckon I can get another 50 L in 2 x 25L tanks under the floor on either side between the rails. I got quotes on two alloy tanks ( 3mm) to fit and they were $400 ea .. so I decided not to worry about it just yet.

Nice looking tank. Seagull. Is it designed to go in a T2 or T25? If it's the T2, I would be interested.

South African T25 have an 84L tank not a 65 like the rest
