Anybody tried one of these on either an air or water cooled dub?
Are they any good or just a gimmic?
Andy.
hee hee hee go on make some one $ .
yeah i would like to know
can see how they would work with efi
I know the guy that imports these .lets say he will not give one to me to try and post my findings here . If they were that good car makers would fit
them as standed .He tells me he would just sell me cheap !
A very good mate of mine has one in his car > i removed it on a trip once .the return trip .he did not know I had removed it from the motor and is
still none the wiser ,untill I gave it to him when I got out the car we got home .fuel amout did not change and i did not see any hp differance .
Yet the * Tin shot * Fuel canister I made has improved the motor running no pining on unleaded fuels no more .
You would get more value from the tooth fairy!!
Rob...
A mate of mine fitted one to a diesel hi-lux. It didn't seem to make it more fuel efficient or more HP but it did definitely reduce the carbon (black
smoke) coming from the exhaust.
The car used to blow black smoke like mad going down the beach but now it doesn't blow any. I couldn't believe it, maybe it was a fluke.

We've had this discusion a while ago. They're basically useless, especially on direct injection cars, including diesels. It's meant to mix the
"air/fuel" better, but how can it do that in the intake manifold of the average injected motor? On most air cooled VW motors, without the preheater
transfering heat from the exhaust to the intake manifold, they ice up, and with a HiClone in place it just counteracts the effect of the preheater and
ices the manifold up again...
If you want to improve fuel economy and smoothness, try tuning your motor, like timing and fuel jets etc... And then keep ya foot off the go peddle as
much as you can.
:blah:blah:blah:blah:blah:blah
I have to disagree with most of you. I had one in my EL Falcon Wagon and it made a hell of a difference in economy and the engine ran much smoother especially when cold.
I always suspected that those things were useless.
if you want one, just take a blade to a coke can. it's a lot of $$ for no !!
Ahh....So the preheats do serve a purpose....
hehe, when I got my S, some bright spark had hacksawed the preheats of the splitter tube. I couldn't see the sense of the removal. I've had the car
in cold....cold climates before and never had difficulties. But that engine is a freak anyway. I've always wondered what's inside it, but I think
it's a pandora's boxer to be honest.
