how do you get the old ones out?
without oxy or damaging the bonnet, that is. Mines a 60 bootlid.
what are people using instead?
I saw steve1302's old car using cut down dips sticks. Do they work ok?
I used the removable from hinge-pins from aircooled.net (can't remember brand though). I managed to get the old ones out using a 5.5mm punch - no heat required. They were a little hard to get started but once they were moving they came out pretty easy (63 decklid). I just managed to hold decklid on its side and propped the hinge against a block of timber and hammered out the pin. Crap description sorry - was a little while ago and can't remember if there were any other tricks?
Hi
I did with the lid still on the car, as dasdubber said hard to start at 1st. If you retain the spring you need to be very careful when removing &
fitting the lid, it will want to spring into the body. I used 40HP dipsticks, not as big a hoop as later ones.

Howdy do,
same theroy used for mine, used a hole punch and punched them out on the car. Easy to do.
Bought some big split like pins the same diameter as the original hinge pins and bingo, one instant removable deck lid. I have no retained my spring
set up so i dont have to worry about it flying back, but it times i fell it would be handy if it was still there.
Buy some HOODJAX's and you will get them with the kit !!
