looking at these as an option for my bug, as opposed to an adjustable beam.... anybody have any comments on these?...
isn't an adjustable beam a reference to horizontal movement rather than verticle (as with dropped spindles)?
i would think that with your drop spindles, you will have more guard clearance problems, as the spindles will add width.
i thought they just take existing spindles and move the center down(up) a few inches, weld in a plate, will have to look if they add width..
Spindles need DOT approval. Adjusters don't.
thats what needed to hear..
I just got taught a lesson on another post:blush
Serves me right for spreading ignorance
depends which dropped spindles you use, the re-welded ones add width, but if you buy forged ones they dont, and I would think that they dont need
apprioval as they are not welded. Not sure check your state regs.
Dropped spindles give a better ride .

i fitted dropped spindles to a mate's '71(ish) bug.
they're great, as long as your happy with a 2.5 inch drop with no adjustibility nothing really compares.
especially when you find you can complete the job from start to finish in a short few hours......
i'd say, go for it!

Ifitted a set to my bus in about an hour or so, it lowers the ride but keeps the suspension stock, so you still have travel in the shockers.
If you fit adjusters you then have to fit shorter shocks, and you could bottom out.

Just bolt the bloody things on
no one will know if its lowered or has dropped spindles.
