can the diff in an type three auto be turned around ? so I can mid mount the motor ? I have a look but asking here :beer

No-not like a manual anyway-but blokes in USA are starting to use them by turning the whole diff assembly(housing included) around on the flange where it bolts to the auto part.These are starting to be used in drag beetles and offroad with mid mount motors.I found this on Shoptalk Forums in the trans section.I have been in contact with a bloke called Ray Greenwood who sounds like hes up with all the auto facts.

Forgot-If you look at a trans you will see the housing is offset unlike a manual-the reason why auto's use one drive shaft shorter than the other.
