So I broke my handbrake, The locking Button shot out the end broke off someplace down in the handle.. I guess I was a Little to excited out on the sand sliding around in the wet...

SO, I would live to get a set of these Turning Brakes for my Manx...

Who has installed a set of these recently..?
Is it an easy install or do I need to weld in the mountings.. A previous thred had a Photo and the mount does not look to different..

Anyone have a set Sitting around...?

Im doing this but i was thinking a hydro one from the states but i have played around with the cable ones before they work great not only for turning but if your stuck with one wheel in the air pull on the brake and out you drive

did you have to Strengthen the spot where the Original handBrake bolts on, Oh not that i think about it it looks as though you have welded a length of 90deg in there to bolt it up to...

Nah, they're not of my car, there's not enough room between my front seats for these. I think ManxXTC has them on his car.

if you just used 2 extra master cyclinders (have 3 brake pedals) (1 for all 4 wheels, 1 Rear RH, 1 rear LH) and just run a "T piece" joiner on each rear brake cyclinder (with maybe an extra valve) it would work a treat wouldnt it ??? the other possibility is isolating the brakes in a left right configuration use something like an indicator toggle (electric valves in th break lines) and have the front and rear LH / RH brakes working together.

have a look at alot of the motokhana cars if you want ideas of brakes. Some have the 5 pedal setup as mentioned above, or use hand brakes. also seen a car with a brake and accel on on peddle........ look pretty cool, and was good once you got used to it.

I know Cyril , he drives like a nut, did u see the vw pipe frame Buggy @ Toronto ? he has a very interesting turning brake set up , much different to Cyrils.

Cyril actually had a massive stack in that buggy at awabawac park a few weeks back. He was alright but the buggy was a little tender. All fixed now and back on the dirt.

The pipe frame vw buggy you are talking about wouldnt be ron's old buggy. That one was auto with 4 brake peddles. different but dame fast and effective.

Talk to some of the motorkhana/khanacross boys/girls. They would be more then happy to help. One of our car club members got that stuff for my old man about 10 years back but I have no idea where he got it from.

Revolution Race Gear have a two way set up with two master cylinders - one for each rear wheel. Its like a push/pull set up, you pull the lever and the left wheel is activate or you push the lever and the right wheel is activated. Pretty simple stuff.

You would have to run the brake line for the rear tyres to the hydraulic hand brake then to each wheel.

I almost forgot you would have to install a brake biase - you can buy these things or get one off a mini - the old minis, and put that in line before the handbrake set up.

a couple of hundred bucks for a bought one or make it yourself.
