another kadron ?
kombibob - August 11th, 2005 at 05:57 PM

hi all
just took my new motor for a strap
1641 kadrons ,custom extractors petronix elec ign etc
very happy with the power, just a small flat spot to iron out .
my questions is when setting the mixture adjustment
i did 1&2 side carb first turning screw in until idle stumble then backing off etc
but when i did 3&4 side i found i could turn the screw in all the way with no change in idle ??? is this norm?
so i just backed the screw out the same amount of turns as the other side seems to run ok except for the small flat spot.nn[ Edited on 11-8-2005 bykombibob ]

No... time for more investigations... maybe car is being fed from other side via balance tube...

Nice one bob...i'll have to get mine going now.

is it in your kombi?

kombibob - August 14th, 2005 at 05:48 PM

yep
well it was ,started to get some cluch shudder than lost the cluch alltogether, so it is out again.
ended up being a bent throw out arm.
all fixed now i'll chuck it back in tonight.

Funny you should say that my notch has developed a clutch shudder as well...will change the cluth in a few weeks if it lasts that long.
Tossing up whether to put the 1641 in the notch and do something bigger for the beetle or just be patient and put it into the beetle.
I just know when I pull the notch engine out I wont be able to help myself and I'll split the case.

Nice to see the oildrippres sticker as well

Cheers
