Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone out there has had fitted a 4-point rollcage to their beetle? Preparing a car for charity rallying mainly and need a basic
roll-cage. Bolt-in would be preferable. After suppliers details and expected costs. So far have called Bond Rollbars who sell a bolt-in for $450.
Anyone have any other contacts?
Anyone got one floating around they'd like to sell? I'm in Goulburn NSW and the car is currently incapacitated hence the preference for bolt-in.
Cheers
I don't think too many other places do an approved steel bolt-in cage that can be delivered to your door... after all, it's quite a specialised business and $450 is nothing, really
Thats a realy good price for a bolt in cage to your door. I getting a full weld in cage by a friend and that will cost me 1200, unpainted and with me supplying a fullyt stripped car....
Yes I paid $1100 for an engineer approved 4 point bolt in roll cage for my 63 beetle, so that price is cheap!
are the cages cams/andra approved? both the $450 one and the $1100 ones?
just trying to compare and contrast.
Anthony
Thanks heaps guys.
I'll have to check that I can get it engineer approved somehow.
I couldn't say about cams approval or anything - the rally regulations for the car I'm building are pretty simple. Cage just has to be in the car
and engineer approved. It'll be running a stock 1600 in a stock car so there won't be any speed records broken.
If anyone hears of one for sale any cheaper i'd still like to know. Preparing this car looks likely to cost a bit more than expected when it all adds
up and a saving of $50 even would be tops.
Whe doing this sort of stuff, you need to be able to hold a ciggy lighter to $50 notes and laugh about it...
I'd love to do a Rally like that one daynn[ Edited on 27-9-2005 by VWCOOL ]
