I have a couple questions for those of you that are in the know..
Im just learning, so please take it easy on me
They are both regarding lowering the front on a '59 Beetle.

1) With the Dropped Link pin Spindles (set up for disks) that you can buy from CB etc etc...
Does this mean you can take the disk/caliper/master cyl assy's from say a 1500 (with front disks) and attach it all to the new spindles/link pin front end and run disks? - is it really that easy? Im not so sure..

2) In regard to how lowering using spindles/adjbeams; if any one has side profile pics of their cars, I would really like to see the differences between just having dropped spindles; just having an adj beam, and then the combination.
So if you have any of them, please please please put them up for me.

When the car was "coastal ivory" it had K&L dropped spindles from CB Performance. This widened the track a bit and the front tyres hit the guards quite often.

Now that it's grey and white it is on a BJ adjustable beam. No clearance issues.

yes you are right about the the new spindles and all the late gear and you do push the track of your car wider by 10mm each side
which doesnt seem a lot but it does mean you wheels will scub when lowered and say ing that you do retain the factory ride quality

drop spindles means (in easy terms)
the pointy bit on a dropped set they cut off and weld it 2 or 3 inches higher on the spindle so in effect you drop the hight 2 or 3 inches
with no adjustment
and an adjustable beam means you can raise and lower the hight of the car buy screwing in or out of 2 bolts when adjusters have been fitted


put these 2 together and you have one low ride
