hi guys ,i dont know much about these but will a fuel injection system off a type 3 fit on to a 1200 beetle baja or is it different ,thanx

Type 3 fuel injection was a bit of a pig and I don't think many people would recommend using it on a conversion. It is set up for dual port heads and a central throttle body which requires major mods to fit the upright cooling gear(if possible at all). With the exposed motor on a baja and the aging electrical components you would have nothing but trouble.

Yeah, I tend to agree with Mackaymanx on this one - they would be difficult to fit and the age of many of the components would not make for the most reliable system.

If you are really keen to go EFI, have a look around at aftermarket systems - there are plenty of them. Your are planning on running this on a 1200? Perhaps you could look at doing throttle body style injection - this would solve the 'how do I fit the injectors into the manifold?' question.

Go for it - having done an EFI conversion on an Air Cooled Baja (Type IV motor) I can honestly say that you will not look back once your conversion is up and running.
