Cheapest and best way for lowering

I am looking to lower my 1971 Beetle at the front by about 1 inch. Does anybody know the best and cheapest way of doing this? The wheel guards are
flared and the front tyres are wider than usual. (don't know by how much though!).

mmm, no photo, as for the lowering, for mild stuff adjusters are best I reckon.

put a shit load of wieght in the back seat and some concrete bags in the front .have fun brakinfg and swerving all over the road.Hey i am doing a
multi colored engine at the moment.Ha Ha

The biggest question is whether your beetle has a beam front end or strut front end. If it has spare wheel in the front standing up it is beam. If it
has spare wheel laying flat it is a strut.

thats the funniest thin ive read all day
cheapest way is rotate the anchor on the top beam a bit
but ur stuck with what ever height it ends up
not much more effort to weld in some adjusters
or just do what a fellow AVDer did
throw a big sand bag in the boot LOL

Fit the smallest wheels that will fit on the front and fit very low profile tyres. That will do the front. On the rear lower the ride height by
adjusting the swing plates.

the car will still look high, due to the gap between the top of the tyre and the guard.
I would lower it to where I want it, and get the tallest tyre I can with turning etc... probably a 145/15
Put adjusters in your beam, simple.
Or take some leaves out and hope for the best!

If its only an inch, cut the springs, simple. No its not legal, but you wont be the first or last to do it.
To go lower, buy lowered struts and inserts, not cheap but the easiest.
If you are handy with a welder, you should drop the lower spring saddle down a few inches and reweld it, and then get short inserts.

cut the spring you will have to get a spring compressor than take off 1 coil done
