This might sound like a stupid question, but I have an adjustable front end on my 68 beetle and want to set it a bit lower. Can some one supply a step by step guide and maybe a couple of pics??

I am tempted to hook in and start winding things, but I don't know a lot about it all and I don't wan't to pin my head to the floor if I get it wrong!!

Does it have 1 or 2 adjustment bolts on each adjuster, as there are 2 different styles of adjuster. If it has two bolts on each then one is the height adjustment bolt(verticle bolt) the other is the leave spring locking bolt(horizontial bolt). To lower, raise the front with a jack, then losen the horisontal bolts a touch till they are out a couple of turns. then undo the locking nut on the verticle bolt, and windit down a couple of turns, before tightning up the locking nut again. Then slowly let the jack down and once on its wheels, reach under (if you can) and re tighten that first horizontal bolt and lock it up with its lock nut. You will have to do this on both adjusters and it may take some trial and error to get your desired height, but once youve done it a couple of times you will be an expert. Hope that helps, Josh.

Yeah it has two adjustment bolts on each adjuster.

You will need a wheel alignment after it's done, too, otherwise you will kill your tyres

You should also check how much damper travel remains, as well. You need some travel - 1.5-inches minimum - to absorb bumps
