The side mirrors that are sold by Wolfsburg and others that have a connection to the bug door hinges, do the hinges require modification? or how are the mirrors attached? Help appreciated

the hinge pin needs to be removed and replaced with a pin with a threaded piece to which the mirror bolts onto.
if you need to do this ,soak your hinge pin in penetrene(crc etc) for a week or so giving it a soak most days,this will make it much easier to remove

If you can't get your hinge pin out using proprietary penetrating oils (CRC, WD 40 etc.) I suggest that you soak it in eucalyptus oil. It's the best penetraing oil that there is.
