Installing aftermarket seats
MattY-64 - April 3rd, 2007 at 08:39 AM

Hi all,

Ok I am installing after market fixed bucket seats.

I have already removed the old worn out low backs from the rails and I have welded plates onto the rails for bolting of the seats.

Last night I did a pre drill test fit to see how it would all feel etc. I noted that the steering wheel is actually going to be slitely off center if I put the seat in the middle of the rail.

I am wanting to know if (when other people have installed their after market seats) put the seats off center or left them center. (by off center i mean bolted closer to the center tunnel)

All help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Matt.

mate ide set them up so the wheel is centre, especially god forbid if you have a accident.your insurance may not pay up if they see them set up offset

Your engineer that is certifying them will be able to assist in what requirements there are legally. Fixed seats means registered as two seater only in a two door car.
