Type 3 ('65) front locknut conversion

Here is how I went from the double locknut and tab washer to the split nut on my '65 notch. I find the split nut much easier to adjust, the nuts and caps are from a sbug

I've gotta cool the hot air that gets in.I thought the thread pitch was different on the earlier stubs??

Yeah the thread pitch was the same, I know the early beetle is different to the late beetle. The type 3 must be the same all the way through.
