how do i go about adjusting this shifter cant stop it from going into reverse with out lifting the leaver is there l/h ,r/h ones and do i have to mod something on the shifter any info would be great........... steve
Check that the coupling at the back is in good order....there generally isnt any adjustment side to side on the scat shifter which usually means it bolts straight on and works.
I have the same problem with the one installed in my beetle, but the one on the bus is fine?

Also check the bush under the shifter
the ball do you mean at thebase of the shifter
no, the gearshift linkage goes through a bush inside the tunnel just behind the shifter
cant be that replaced it first upany thing eles
Sorry for the stupid question, but you didn't leave the factory reverse lock-out in situ did you?
Try moving the shifter base to the left first.
If the base is too far to the right it will cause the problem you are talking about

Talks about it on page 5
