40 Webbers with 1916
kombiute - November 8th, 2007 at 02:26 PM

Just wanted to know "if set up & tuned correctly" if my Webber 40's will work nicely on my mild 1916 im building, as I've not budgeted for bigger carby's:

Is anyone on the forum currently running them on their 1916?

Bits include:

69mm CB Performance Chromolly crank & rods
94 mm B & P
CB Performance 044 94 mm heads 40 x 35.5
Engle 110 cam

Thanks in advance,

Depends on your venturis more than the carbs themselves.

A 1916 would want at least 34 or 36mm venturis

What is the number stamped on yours??

With that cam they will work fine.

I'm running 40 Dellorto's on my Pobjoy base 1916 in the ragtop, and they work well.

Thank you, I will check the stamping on them tonight, and report back, thanks again

The 40mm carbs will be a good match. Ive run 40mm carbs on some big 2L datsun engines and had better results with 40mm carbs then anything bigger. I wouldnt go anything bigger then what you have got for a street application.

those webbers are side draft carbs dude.

My mate is putting efi on his escort and is selling good pair of 45's by the way
